Dr. Pat Hamilton graduated from the School of Optometry, University of Waterloo in 1988, having been awarded the Ciba Vision Award for Clinical Excellence. This followed a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Winnipeg in 1984. Dr. Hamilton received his certification in the use of therapeutic drugs in 1994 from the Northeastern State University, College of Optometry, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He has been practicing Optometry in Nepean since 1988. Dr. Hamilton enjoys all aspects of primary optometric care particularly contact lens therapy, digital ocular photography and the pre- and post-operative care of patients interested in refractive surgery.

Dr. Hamilton has served his profession locally, provincially and nationally in various roles. He is past member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists’ Occupational Vision Committee, the CNIB Advisory Board, past-president of the Ottawa Society of Optometrists and is a former chairperson of the Staff Education Program for the Ontario Association of Optometrists. Dr. Hamilton is currently a member in good standing of the Ottawa, Ontario and Canadian Associations of Optometry. His leisure time revolves around his wife and three boys and spending time with them on the water at the family cottage.

Dr. Roy is a 1997 graduate of the school of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours. She also completed an Ocular Therapeutics Residency in 1996 at the Omni Eye Centre in Denver, Colorado. She has successfully completed the Canadian Standard Assessment in Optometry, and holds certification for prescribing Ocular Therapeutic Agents.

As an associate of the Nepean Optometric Clinic since 1997, Dr. Roy enjoys working in the dynamic and growing community of Bells Corners. Her fluency in both English and French is a great asset to the office. Dr. Roy is interested in all aspects of primary care optometry with a special interest in contact lens care, pediatric optometry and pre and post operative management care for patients interested in laser vision correction.

Dr. Roy also serves as an assessor for the Canadian Standard Assessment in Optometry Licensing examinations, and has been an externship supervisor for the International Optometric Bridging Program.

Dr. Litwiller received her Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Waterloo in 1997, graduating with Honours. She completed an Ocular Therapeutics internship in 1996 at the Omni Eye Care Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon graduation, Dr. Litwiller received both the Canadian Contact Lens Society Prize and the Dr. Michael Gutwein Memorial Award for leadership. Dr. Litwiller practices full scope optometric care and particularly enjoys pediatric optometry, the co-management of ocular health conditions, contact lens care and pre- and post-laser refractive surgery care.

Dr. Litwiller is an active member of the Canadian, Ontario and Ottawa Associations of Optometry. She is involved with the Canadian Examiners in Optometry where she acts as an assessor of the clinical skills of optometrists applying to be licensed to practice in Canada. In addition she sits on several committees involved in the preparation of licensing examinations. Combining her love for travel and desire to help people, Dr. Litwiller has volunteered on several eye missions in developing countries, including trips to Africa and Nepal. Outside of work Dr. Litwiller enjoys being active cycling, hiking and cross country skiing.

Dr. David Charbonneau received his Optometry Doctorate from the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Waterloo in 2018, graduating on the Dean’s Honours List. He completed an Ocular Disease and Therapeutics internship in 2017 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He also participated in a volunteer trip to Moldova with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) in 2016, providing free eye examinations and glasses to the local Moldovan community. Before optometry, Dr. Charbonneau graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours in 2014 from Carleton University, with a major in the field of Neuroscience.

Having been a member of the Nepean Optometric Clinic team throughout his optometry schooling, working both in pretesting and in the dispensary, Dr. Charbonneau is very excited to have joined the clinic as an associate optometrist and to continue work with the patients and staff of the clinic. Dr. Charbonneau enjoys all aspects of primary optometric care and looks forward to seeing you as a patient.
